Well, heres the long and the short of it!
My Beautiful blue Baby.. My Odysseus, my Kia Rio 2004 model sedan.
Is gone.
Written off.
Monday night last week, at a roundabout just outside the video store where i work. I checked to the right, no one coming, so i start around the round about. about half way round i notice a car coming too fast to stop on my left, so i brace myself and he smashes into me. Since it was raining i skidded about 5m sideways before bumping into the curb on the other side of the roundabout.
On first inspection, Odysseus is fine, aside from the huge dent in the front left panel, the hood and all other panels seem to be ok (aside from the scratches, borken lights and other dents all over the left side from the accident). certainly major, but definately repairable right?
I get towed to the repair place and drop it off there that night. a day passes, no word. another day, and im at work at the comic store, and i get a call from dad. you know a phone call isnt going to be good when someone starts by sayign "I think you should sit down". anyhoo, Dad tells me they said Odysseus is too expensive to repair so they're writing him off. That was when i posted the last one. I loved that car. It was all mine, brand new. I know it seems silly to get this emotional about an inanimate object, but Odysseus was my friend. and now, after i pick up the stuff from inside him tomorrow morning, I'll never see him again. never.
Theyre paying out a bit, but i still have to pay almost a years worth of insurance and the 800 dollars i had left from the first loan i took out.
cest la vie eh? could have been worse everyone says, i agree, but doesnt mean it isnt crap.
Anyhoo. In other news, just got back from youth camp at Mt Barney. That was interesting, fun and worrying at the same time. I was a barney-virgin, even after having been around the youth/laser group for over 7 years! but id say it was good. I worry though about some of the kids. no, not kids. they are getting older now, and I love hanging around with them and Kerryn and Mo.
I worry about a few in particular but i wont go into that here. Just one of the things that are on my mind atm! :P
sunburnt... but the sun is our friend! mm.. vitamin D.
Back is worrying me too. i think i must have jarred it on the first day of hiking, then aggrovated it today doin all that stuff. I got home this arvo, and planned on going to church at 6pm, so had a short kip. Wake up with 20 min to go till church, and back is so sore i can hardly move, and bedroom is really hot, and im so tired. No win situation really. i thought that if i went to church id injure my back further and just fall asleep anyway. SO i didnt go! ack!
The other night at Smallgroup, the question was raised: "do you ever feel excluded?". My reply to that is all the time. every day theres always some situation in which I feel like im left out. When i said that no one seemed to feel the same. so im just turnign the question over to you! does anyone else out there feel excluded? or is it just me! :P

:'(
My baby. My love. You were taken before your time.
There will NEVER be another one like you.
You did not deserve to go like this.
We had so many adventures before us
I can still feel you under my hands.
There is a hole in my heart. It hurts.
There was nothing I could have done. and yet I blame myself
No one understands the pain.
Why.
Odysseus. My baby. My beautiful baby. My friend. You understood me. you never judged. You were always there when i needed to escape. You deserved better.
Odysseus.
Too sad/angry/frustrated/tired whatever to talk about it right now.
