Well Hello Hello!
I kinda lied when i said id post last night, after working 9-5 at the comics store we had small group, and i fully intended to go home, but there was an impromptu (meaning totally random) trip to the Valley to go to karaoke, (which we didnt end up doing any of! :P) and i ended up getting home at 3:30, so i was a bit buggered!
We went to the Empire hotel among others, but I was designated driver! so the evening was a bit less manic than it could have been! Met some random guy, name Toby, who apparently goes to UQ too! argh! meeting and talking to randoms who you could end up meeting again!
Oh well! :) alls well that ends well! some of the clubs in the valley are really interesting. one we went to, the floor was SOOOO incredibly sticky everywhere. really wrong. and there was this guy on the dancefloor with one of those V shirts that go down to the waist... WRONG! but he was very flamboyant, so i guess that explains that.
Today is the Ekka Public Holiday! for those who have no idea what im on about, the Ekka, or Exhibition, is our Yearly 'Show'. its on at the RNA showgrounds and you can have rides, see all these cool events (sheep-dog trials, Fireworks, Wood Chopping contests, Railyway building contests, Fruit creative displays,) etc etc.
You can also get showbags for exhorbitant prices, but some are very cool! there is over 300 showbags you can buy, ranging from $1 each up to $40. there is the sideshow alley too! the carneys are weird! :P
But this year, my family went without me, leaving me to suffer at work! ack..the ignomy! :P But they got me showbags! :D check it out!:
Sorry about the bad quality image! but meh! just found my old webcam! so what are you gonna do! :D
On the Left, thats the 'Phantom Comic Collector's Showbag' (11 phantom comics for $6) and on the right there is the 'Neslte Big Bag' which includes the Mintie bag (which you can kinda see in the middle there) and several Bertie Beatle showbags, and some assorted redskins/smarties/fruit tingles bags! :) mmm...junky food! im stocked up for the next few weeks! :D
On another completely unrelated line, i have decided to start Saving a lot more than i have been! this means, cutting down unnecessary expenditure to $100 a fortnight (that INCLUDES comics and goin out, lunch, all that jazz).
This way, working two jobs, i figure i can save about 300 dollars a fortnight (currently only saving about 200) :) which, of course will go towards paying off my lovely baby buggy! but after that, i can save to actually GO somewhere! I am planning NZ in January. but there have been rumours, whisperings if you will.. of a trip to Europe and the Middle East in and around 2006! :) who knows! I would REALLY REALLY like to go to Turkey ASAP because theyve just recentley opened Mt. Ararat for the public! :)
Also, i figure i should go overseas now, before i start teaching, so that i can have some interesting anecdotes to tell my students of far off and distant places to inspire them! :D to that end, i NEED to save money! :)
Next year will be good because then I will have earned over 16,000 dollars in a 18 month period, thereby declaring me independant, and allowing me to claim AUSTUDY! :) Yay! another 180 per fortnight i think! :)
hah! I have a plan! i feel psyched about it! :) I can actually plan for something two years in advance! :D
w00t!
And Mike is going to be in good ol Brissie so soon! :) tis weird. knowing someone only by the net, and then actually confirming their existence in real life! Im looking forward to it! :D heh heh heh!
